Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erik Eriksson (ranked 2418 p4p, 258 weight class) and John Miller (ranked 3952 p4p, 392 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Eriksson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Script - Hall of Fame. John Miller struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.9lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Miller fails to land with a series of punches.
Miller takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Miller shoots in but no luck this time.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Miller has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Miller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Eriksson tries to avoid it but Miller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Eriksson to the ground. Eriksson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Eriksson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
