Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Erik Eriksson (ranked 2418 p4p, 258 weight class) and John Miller (ranked 3952 p4p, 392 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Eriksson might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Script - Hall of Fame. John Miller struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 171.9lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, John Miller! The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Miller fails to land with a series of punches.
Miller takes a shot right to the bread basket. Miller shoots in but no luck this time. We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Miller has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. Miller changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Eriksson tries to avoid it but Miller manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Eriksson to the ground. Eriksson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Eriksson was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit. Miller misses with a combination
and Eriksson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A jab from Eriksson finds it's way through Miller's defenses. Miller is looking to clinch. Miller throws a right and a left that both miss. Miller doesn't succeed with the takedown and Eriksson makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Erik Eriksson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Miller. Miller looks winded! Eriksson cracks Miller on the jaw with a powerful right hand and Miller falls backwards against the cage. Eriksson follows up with more strikes that drop Miller to his knees. Eriksson keeps the pressure on and the referee jumps in to save Miller! This one is all over!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dood misses with a wild body shot. Bokhorst throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body. Dood lands a body shot.
Dood throws a jab but it's blocked by Bokhorst. Dood blocks a jab. Dood connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt. Dood slips under a jab from Bokhorst. Bokhorst throws a body shot but no joy. Dood misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bokhorst.
Bokhorst takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Dood smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Dood tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bokhorst was well out of range. Poor timing from Dood. Dood moves in looking to clinch but Bokhorst pushes him off. Bokhorst thows a left - swing and a miss! Dood is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bokhorst. It seemed like Bokhorst was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bokhorst looks to throw the jab but Dood is out of range. Bokhorst avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Dood slips under a jab from Bokhorst. Dood catches Bokhorst with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Decent striking displayed by Dood there. Bokhorst throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Dood tries to clinch there but Bokhorst circles away.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bokhorst. Bokhorst misses with a wild combination.
Dood bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. An attempted straight right counter from Dood misses the target. Bokhorst takes a swing at Dood's ribcage but misses. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dood. A swing and a miss from Bokhorst. Dood scores with a body shot.

Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bokhorst looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dood is one step ahead there. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rad Dood will probably get the nod. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Dood is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Bokhorst reverses the position - he's now on top in Dood's guard. Bokhorst won't allow Dood to sweep him here. Rad Dood overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bokhorst cracks Dood with a solid left hand. Dood is pulling down on Bokhorst's head. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Bokhorst looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Dood prevents Bokhorst from improving his position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dood moves out of range of the leg kick from Bokhorst. Dood moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Decent striking displayed by Dood there. Dood forces Bokhorst back against the cage and clinches. Bokhorst working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. A quick uppercut on the inside from Bokhorst. Rad Dood is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. A short left from Bokhorst. Bokhorst has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Bokhorst fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

and Dos Santos counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Dos Santos. Reborn has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Dos Santos after a bit of a struggle. Dos Santos misses with a hook from the clinch. Dos Santos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dos Santos motions for Reborn to come forward. Dos Santos throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Danny Reborn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Reborn has closed the distance and engaged Dos Santos in a clinch.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Lee tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice sprawl there from Lee as Bizarria shoots in. It seemed like Lee was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Bizarria misses with a hook. Lee lands a nice hook to Bizarria's body. Bizarria takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. The fighters circle momentarily. Lee darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Lee misses with a wild body shot. Bizarria tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Lee manages to circle out of the way. Bizarria closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Lee's guard. Bizarria won't allow Lee to get back to his feet. Bizarria trying to control but Lee is working from the bottom. Bizarria with a flurry of punches that miss. Grimes throws a body shot but no joy. A slapping body kick lands there for Grimes. Grimes moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
