Horrible takedown attempt by Kruger or perhaps it was just good defense by Aveline, which made it look bad.
A looping hook to the body misses from Aveline. Kruger does a little dance to reset his feet.
Aveline has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Island Sparring in the buildup to the fight.
Kruger misses with a body punch
and Kruger takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Paul Kruger has been cut.
Aveline keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Kruger.
Kruger steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Aveline.
Aveline missing with a left hand there. Kruger was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Kruger closes the distance and clinches up with Aveline, looking for a takedown. Kruger pushes Aveline against the cage but Aveline circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Aveline enables Kruger to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Aveline manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Belt Two has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Belt Two there as he acknowledges the shot.
Jeez, Black Belt Two's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
