The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bettin stuffs the takedown attempt from Nascimento. Nascimento gets slowly back to his feet.
Bettin wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

It looks like Leonardo Nascimento has been cut.

Averescu kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Guns N' Roses - Welcome To The Jungle. Mahogany is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Litty. Dan Averescu has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Mahogany feints and as Averescu raises his hands in defense, Mahogany changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Averescu knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mahogany on the ground.

Mahogany drops back looking for a leg! Averescu is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Averescu manages to kick Mahogany off! Mahogany jumps back into Averescu's guard.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mahogany working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Averescu seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Mahogany wants to control from the top but Averescu keeps moving.
Mahogany slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mahogany has hold of Averescu's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Averescu seems comfortable defending it but Mahogany has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Averescu is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Averescu is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mahogany couldn't care less - he's delighted!

McGraugh ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. McGraugh no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
McGraugh has a closed guard, preventing Brannigan from standing up.

Brannigan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing McGraugh to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Brannigan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - McGraugh pulls down on the head and he's put Brannigan to sleep! This one is all over!
