The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Garcia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Schogt swivels and escapes.

Schogt changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Garcia looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Schogt seems to be working for a kimura but Garcia defends the submission attempt.
Schogt seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Garcia does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Khabib Abdulmanapovich Nurmagomedov.
