The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Trejo misses with a few strikes there.
Trejo ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Reeves moves away. Trejo gets caught napping as Reeves dives in and scores a takedown. Trejo manages to retain guard. Trejo manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Trejo connects with the punch. Trejo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Reeves. Reeves drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Trejo prevents Reeves from improving position. Reeves has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Trejo! Reeves moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Trejo has worked his arm free - good work by Trejo!
That's one minute gone in the round. Reeves works to advance to full mount. Trejo defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Reeves won't let Trejo get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Reeves wants to take his opponent's back but instead Trejo manages to regain half guard. Reeves wants to pass to mount but Trejo is defending the position. Reeves wants to advance to full mount but Trejo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead. Reeves tries to free his leg and advance position but Trejo is retaining full guard. Reeves has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Trejo wants to get back to his feet but Reeves is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Reeves looking to pass the guard.

Trejo lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Reeves circles away quickly and effectively. Reeves was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger. Reeves missing with a left hand there. Trejo was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. A jab from Trejo misses. Trejo throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Reeves dives in for a single leg takedown but Trejo sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Trejo lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage. Reeves has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Trejo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Danny Trejo dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Nice takedown defense from Trejo. No joy for Reeves on that attempt. Reeves tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trejo swivels and escapes. Excellent takedown into side control there by Reeves. Trejo stops Reeves from passing to mount. Trejo is pushing Reeves's head away, looking to escape. Reeves manages to hold on to the position though. Reeves goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Trejo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Reeves but great work by Trejo. Reeves tries to bench press Trejo off him but Trejo keeps the position. Trejo gets to mount! Reeves was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly. Reeves is desperately trying to improve his position but Trejo has a good base and remains in mount. Trejo gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Danny Trejo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Trejo throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Trejo, as that shot connected.

Trejo bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Reeves's head. Reeves is rocked! Trejo cracks Reeves's jaw with two stiff jabs then ducks low and throws a soul-severing right uppercut to the mouth!! Reeves slumps to the ground with blood on his lips. The referee steps in before Trejo can do further damage! This one is done, son!

Brown manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Brown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Doomsday tries to avoid it but Brown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Doomsday to the ground. Doomsday escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Whack! Brown lands a heavy head kick that drops Doomsday. The ref tackles Brown to stop the fight - a great save by the referee because Doomsday was done.

Tyler crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Champion - the referee stops the clock and Tyler gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Champion. Tyler manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes. Tyler throws a right and a left that Champion avoids nicely. Champion scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. The cut above Pete Tyler's eye is starting to cause him problems now. Tyler uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Champion.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones throws a leg kick enabling Kuomanen to counter with a crisp jab. Jones tried to score with a low kick but Kuomanen checks it. Kuomanen circles away from the clinch attempt and Kuomanen counters with a lovely straight right hand! Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones throws a lazy head kick and Kuomanen counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kim Jones seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Kuomanen fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kuomanen closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kuomanen lands in his opponent's guard. Jones wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now. Jones's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jones's guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
