The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Pfanne shoots for a double leg takedown but Lauzier sprawls well. He's pushed Pfanne's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Lauzier swats away the attempt to clinch by Pfanne. Pfanne throws a looping overhand right but Lauzier ducks down to avoid it. Pfanne shoots in and gets a takedown into Lauzier's guard. Pfanne throws a big right hand that misses. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Lauzier utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Pfanne working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though. Daud Yordan tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
