The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spong lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
It looks like Roberto Congo has been cut.
Spong dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Spong bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Spong! But no joy.
Spong throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Congo thuds his right hand into Spong's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Congo ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Spong swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Congo sizes up Spong with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Spong swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Congo.
Congo throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Congo drops a shoulder and throws a biiiig uppercut that drops Spong onto his butt! Spong pops straight back to his feet to convince the referee that he's OK to continue.

Congo connects with a quick right hand that sends Spong tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!

Roberto Congo decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
