Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Spinning Fire (ranked 1518 p4p, 169 weight class) and Bill Bright (ranked 2936 p4p, 293 weight class). Bright is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: So What. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Spinning Fire! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Bill Bright! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Radbod Blank and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bright misses with a takedown attempt - Fire sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. A momentary lapse in concentration from Fire enables Bright to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Fire manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bright throws a big right hand that misses. Bright drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Fire dives on top into guard. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Fire's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Fire is in close to Bright's body, working some short punches and elbows. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Fire passes easily into side control. Nice work. Fire is looking to take a break and control but Bright is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Bright manages to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bright is trying to get back to full guard. We've been hearing that Fire has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Fire winds up and cracks Bright with a swinging punch to the side of the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fire content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Fire prevents Bright from improving his position. Fire looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Bright moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Fire with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bright has his foot on Fire's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fire works his way back into a safe position though. Bright throws his legs up looking for a submission but Fire uses it to pass to side control.
Bright can't do much from the bottom here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bright is trying to improve his position. Bright gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard. Fire lands with a punch from half guard. Fire slows the pace down in half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fire connects with a nice short shot to Bright's temple. Fire trying to control from Bright's half guard. Bright has other ideas though and has regained full guard. Bright is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fire defends well. Fire working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Bright's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fire postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Bright working for a triangle but Fire defends it easily.
Bright looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bright being controlled here, momentarily. Bright looking to hit a scissor sweep but Fire is one step ahead there. Bright is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Fire defends well. Fire pushes down on Bright's leg and manages to get into half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fire working Bright over with strikes. Fire lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Fire keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Bright tries to get to full guard but Fire has control of the leg. Bright punching from the bottom.
Fire lands strikes from half guard. Fire is keen to just control but Bright is a slippery customer. Bright looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Fire seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fire looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bright with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Bright is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Fire pulls his head out easily. Bright is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Spinning Fire dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Bright looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Bright shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fire defends it nicely. Fire avoids the body shot from Bright.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Bright is defended easily by Fire. Spinning Fire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bill Bright. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Bright shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fire defends it nicely. Bill Bright is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bright shoots in for a takedown but Fire shows good takedown defense. Fire tries to counter with a takedown but Bright is quick to defend against it. Bright has a takedown stuffed. Nice takedown defense from Fire. No joy for Bright on that attempt. Fire displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Bright. Fire changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit. Good shot there by Bright. Fire keeps the fight on the outside. Fire slaps away a takedown attempt from Bright, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bright fails with the takedown. Fire feinted with a counter takedown. Bright tries to clinch and Fire counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Bright wants to control but Fire is keeping busy and won't allow it. Fire scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Fire slips a nice elbow through Bright's hands, connecting with Bright's forehead. Fire landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bright wants to get back to full guard. Fire scoring with strikes to the body and head. Fire is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Bright can do to turn this around? Bright wants to get back to his feet. Fire wants to lay and pray for a moment but Bright keeps working. Fire slips a nice elbow through Bright's hands, connecting with Bright's forehead.

He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Fire slows the pace down in half guard. Fire will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Fire landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fire lands a nice short elbow. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fire connects with a nice short shot to Bright's temple. Bright is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Fire scores with a couple of nice shots. Fire perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Fire tries to pass the half guard into mount. Bright knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Bright actively working from the bottom here. Bright has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Fire escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Fire!

Bright is rocked! Bright sneaks back into half guard. Bright is still in real trouble! Can Fire finish him? Bright regains full guard. Nicely done. Bright seems to have recovered his senses. Fire is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Fire lands a couple of elbows. Fire has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Bright is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Fire frees his head nicely. Oh but Bright has switched to an armbar! Fire is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
