Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, DeMarcus Ridley! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ari Silver! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Daniel Franklin and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ridley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Silver swivels and escapes. Silver steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Ridley. Horrible takedown attempt by Ridley or perhaps it was just good defense by Silver, which made it look bad. Silver has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. Silver has Ridley up against the cage in a clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Silver. A left hand lands to the body for Silver.
Silver gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Ridley.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for DeMarcus Ridley. That's going to take a lot out of him. Ridley drops down looking for an ankle pick but Silver pulls his leg out and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ridley tries to keep at a distance but Silver has taken the fight into the clinch. Nice body punch from Silver - that landed with a thud.
That's one minute gone in the round. Silver stops a takedown attempt from Ridley.
Ridley is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. A nice glancing elbow lands by Silver.
It looks like DeMarcus Ridley has been cut. Silver lands a body shot in the clinch.
Silver digs a right hand underneath Ridley's ribcage. Ridley let out a lung full of air as it connected. Ridley is breathing heavily. Silver comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. Silver lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Ridley. Silver makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Ridley is rocked! A right hand to the body from Silver.
Oh Ridley is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Ridley has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Ridley seems to have got his legs back now. Silver lands a nice shot to the body. Silver lands an elbow that stopped Ridley in his tracks for a moment. Silver lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Ridley backwards. Silver has Ridley pressed against the cage. He pushes Ridley back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Silver throws a beautiful elbow that sends Ridley crashing to the floor! Silver piles on the pressure with more strikes! Ridley is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ari Silver!
