Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zak Buffalo (ranked 3033 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shawn Simpson (ranked 5701 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Zak Buffalo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shawn Simpson! The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Simpson dives in and grabs Buffalo's left leg, looking for a takedown. Buffalo pushes down on Simpson's head and hops out. Buffalo shoots in looking for a takedown. Simpson tries to sprawl out of it but Buffalo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Simpson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Buffalo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Simpson to the ground. Buffalo is now in Simpson's guard. Simpson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage. Buffalo gets a trip takedown into half guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Buffalo takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Buffalo looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Simpson with a short hammerfist. Simpson uses the momentum to regain guard. Buffalo is working Simpson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Simpson punching from mount but Buffalo doing a good job of avoiding damage. Buffalo on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Buffalo tries to get out of the position. Buffalo tries to lock up and control but Simpson gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Simpson should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. Simpson has one foot on Buffalo's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet. Simpson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Buffalo is fending him off so far but Simpson persists. Nope, Buffalo circles away and we're back to standing. Buffalo gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Buffalo wants to get back to his feet but Simpson passes into half guard.

Shawn Simpson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Horrible takedown attempt by Buffalo or perhaps it was just good defense by Simpson, which made it look bad. Simpson tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Buffalo defends well and Simpson ends up having to push Buffalo into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Simpson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Strange move. Simpson changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Buffalo tries to avoid it but Simpson manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Buffalo to the ground. Buffalo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Simpson closes this distance looking for a takedown but Buffalo circles away.

That's better than Buffalo was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Buffalo looks up at the clock and then as Simpson takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Buffalo smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
