Kovalov closes the distance and clinches.
Lothbrook tries to break free but Kovalov pushes him back against the cage.
A frustrated look appears on Lothbrook's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Kovalov with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lothbrook to score with a decent uppercut.

Lothbrook feints a jab promting Kovalov to slip. Lothbrook then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Kovalov slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Lothbrook throws a hook to the side of Kovalov's head but Kovalov sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
It looked like Kovalov wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Lothbrook connects with a jab.

Giennadij Kovalov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
