PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Krouse (ranked 5289 p4p, 389 weight class) and Conor Notorious (ranked 4223 p4p, 0 weight class). Conor Notorious told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Krouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Conor Notorious!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Notorious moves into range and clinches up with Krouse.
Krouse is trying to pull guard but Notorious has him pressed against the cage.

Notorious pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Krouse manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Notorious on his heels. He'll look to pass Notorious's guard now, I'm sure.
Krouse slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Notorious is working an open guard so Krouse takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Krouse closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Krouse wants to control but Notorious is keeping him busy.
Krouse trying to mount his opponent but Notorious defends it.

Krouse is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Notorious doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Krouse.
Notorious wants to get back to full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Notorious has a hand on Krouse's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Krouse takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Krouse is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Notorious is trying to escape the mount but Krouse keeps good control and instead manages to take Notorious's back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Krouse controlling well, preventing Notorious from escaping the position.

Krouse is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Notorious has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Krouse has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Notorious taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Krouse doesn't care though - he's delighted!
