Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shanggay Ka (ranked 5235 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vlad Boykus (ranked 4922 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Shanggay Ka! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Boykus! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ka tries to close the distance and clinch but Boykus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Boykus throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ka tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Boykus is in Ka's guard. Boykus wants to stand but Ka is controlling his posture from full guard. Boykus stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ka swivels though and keeps the full guard. Boykus sitting in guard, not really doing much. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Let's hope that Boykus has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boykus is looking to work some ground and pound but Ka has wrist control. Boykus seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Ka looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ka shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Boykus as he jumps to the side. Boykus looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Ka kicks Boykus off and gets to his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boykus misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ka throws a counter high kick but Boykus was just alert enough to avoid it. Boykus fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Ka sprawls well initially but Boykus persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Ka trying to control but Boykus postures up.
Boykus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Boykus is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ka has managed to free his arm - good work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boykus working the head and body with strikes. Boykus is figuring out what he wants to do next. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Ka gets back to full guard.
Boykus works a leg free and moves into half guard. Boykus controlling the action here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Boykus tries to stand and escape but Ka is controlling the position. Boykus stalling. Boykus is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ka sees it coming and defends easily. Ka tries to roll over but Boykus keeps him under control. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Boykus controlling the pace. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boykus feints and as Ka raises his hands in defense, Boykus changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Boykus wants to stand but Ka is controlling his posture from full guard. Boykus is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Boykus sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ka's guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Still in half guard, Boykus seems content to control. Ka is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ka is in trouble now - Boykus has advanced to mount! Ka is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Boykus throws some wild stikes that Ka manages to avoid easily.
Boykus sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Vlad Boykus has got the better of the ground game so far. Ka avoids a series of strikes thrown by Boykus.
Boykus has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Boykus thowing shots but they're missing. Boykus content just to control the position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Boykus unloads with some shots from mount but Ka bucks and avoids them well.
Boykus throwing strikes here but Ka is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Boykus prevents Ka from getting the reversal. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Boykus has hold of Ka's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ka manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Boykus looking to control and managing it successfully. Boykus is continuing to stall.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ka avoids a series of strikes thrown by Boykus.
Ka in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Boykus controlling his opponent. The adventures of Boykus the control monster continue. Boring. The referee warns Ka that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Boykus sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. Ka can't escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Vlad Boykus showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!
A punch combination from Boykus misses. Ka went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Boykus drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Boykus stands up and we're back to a striking position. Boykus stuffs the takedown. Boykus shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Ka kicks Boykus off and gets back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Ka gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Ka is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
That's one minute gone in the round. Boykus content to stall in guard here. Both fighters are breathing heavily. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Ka keeping full guard, as Boykus tries to pass. Boykus controlling from the top position. Boykus looking to pass the guard. Boykus stays in close to Ka's body and controls the position. Boykus wants to pass the guard but Ka is keeping the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Boykus makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Boykus controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Boykus working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Ka's head. Boykus is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ka not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Boykus not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Ka looks for a takedown but Boykus sprawls well. Boykus darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Boykus is looking for a kimura but Ka is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Boykus to get the leverage. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Boykus with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. Boykus not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
And that's the end of the fight! Vlad Boykus comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Boykus has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
