Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kazushi Sakuraba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luis Gutierrez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sakuraba kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Sakuraba Entrance. Gutierrez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Hoy Gano Yo kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Luis Gutierrez will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Yukihiro Shimada.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gutierrez fails to land the takedown.
Gutierrez moves into range and clinches up with Sakuraba.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Gutierrez takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Gutierrez tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Sakuraba smiles and moves away.
Kazushi Sakuraba has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Luis Gutierrez.
Sakuraba feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gutierrez is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Sakuraba has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Sakuraba is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Gutierrez knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sakuraba has control of Gutierrez's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gutierrez regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sakuraba, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
