Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shawn Simpson!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simpson rushes Goransson and presses him up against the cage.
Goransson tries to pull guard but Simpson holds him up against the cage and eventually Goransson drops back down to his feet.
Simpson has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Goransson clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Goransson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Simpson's guard. Nice work there by Goransson.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Simpson holds on and takes a little breather.

Simpson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Goransson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Goransson is pushing down on Simpson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Simpson is fighting to maintain full guard but Goransson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Simpson is desperately trying to improve his position but Goransson has a good base and remains in mount.

Goransson is trying to control here but Simpson has managed to regain half guard.
Goransson wants to control but Simpson is keeping him busy.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Goransson connects with a nice short shot to Simpson's temple.

Simpson tries to get to full guard but Goransson has control of the leg.

Goransson is looking to take a break and control but Simpson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Simpson has hold of Goransson's hands but Goransson slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Goransson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Simpson tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Goransson!

A very excited looking Gunnar Goransson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
