Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Giuseppe Amodei (ranked 1893 p4p, 216 weight class) and Tzu Chu (ranked 1485 p4p, 182 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Giuseppe Amodei!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tzu Chu!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, George Francis and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amodei ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Chu scores with a jab.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Amodei.
Chu misses with a double jab.
Amodei swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Chu pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Amodei wants to clinch up but Chu keeps it at a distance.

Chu waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Amodei.
Chu takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Chu dips to his left and cracks Amodei with an uppercut!
Amodei uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Chu.
Chu takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Amodei avoids a punch combination nicely.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

enabling Chu to counter with a crisp jab.
Amodei has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Chu sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Chu swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Chu slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Chu lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Amodei circles away quickly and effectively.

Amodei loads up on a big right hand but Chu slips the punch.
Chu lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Amodei throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chu was covering up waiting for the punch and Amodei finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Amodei drops back, looking for a kneebar! Chu looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Chu looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Chu!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Amodei has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Chu is working away from the top position though.

Amodei changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chu looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
