Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marco Monti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Subyran Robert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Monti shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Robert as he avoids it easily. Monti tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Robert swivels and escapes. Robert darts in and clinches Monti up against the cage. Monti ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Monti no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Monti is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Robert must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Robert not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Robert in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Monti is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Nice body punch from Robert - that landed with a thud.

Robert gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Monti is breathing heavily. Monti wants to sweep here but Robert controlling him for the moment. Robert drops back looking for a leg! Monti is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Monti manages to kick Robert off! Robert jumps back into Monti's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Monti wants to stand but Robert is controlling the position. Robert trying to control the position from guard on top but Monti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Robert scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robert drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Monti manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Robert has Monti in his guard. Robert pushes Monti off and scrambles back to his feet.
Monti is looking to slow Robert down with leg kicks. Nice takedown defense from Robert. No joy for Monti on that attempt. Robert drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Robert controls the position. Monti is looking for a sweep. Robert stands up and beckons Monti to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Robert lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears. Robert is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Robert scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Robert thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Monti to regain full guard. Robert wants to control from the top but Monti keeps moving. Monti bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Robert's guard. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Monti stopping the sweep attempt from Robert. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Monti gets to his feet. Robert looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Subyran Robert dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Robert fails with the takedown and Monti counters with a flying knee. Nice. A nice leg kick lands there from Monti. Robert tries to clinch up and Monti counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Monti. Robert pulls Monti into guard.
Robert keeping moving, preventing Monti from controlling successfully. Robert wants to stand but Monti is controlling the position. Monti has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Robert is proving hard to escape from. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Monti loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Monti prevents Robert from getting back to his feet. Monti pushing down on Robert's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Robert is looking for a sweep. Monti is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Monti closes the distance and clinches up with Robert, looking for a takedown. Monti pushes Robert against the cage but Robert circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Robert throws a series of strikes that have Monti backpedaling.
Monti drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Robert tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Monti wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Robert trying to control but Monti flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robert wants to control his opponent's hands but Monti gets his hands free. Robert breaks Monti's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.

Monti wants to stand up but Robert is controlling him. Robert sitting in guard, not really doing much. Monti tries to land a sweep but no joy.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monti working for a triangle but Robert defends it easily.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. No luck for Robert with that takedown attempt. Robert throws a lazy head kick and Monti counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Robert is lucky that one didn't land flush. Robert drives through with a takedown into guard. Monti wants to sweep here but Robert controlling him for the moment. Robert throws a strike but Monti rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Monti won't allow Robert to sweep him here.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Robert working for submissions but it's allowed Monti to get to half guard.
Monti seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Monti stands up and beckons Robert to join him on the feet. Monti looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Robert is fending him off so far but Monti persists. Nope, Robert circles away and we're back to standing. Robert has his takedown stuffed and Monti counters with a nice double leg into guard. Marco Monti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Subyran Robert. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Monti trying to control the position from guard on top but Robert is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's one minute gone in the round. Monti lands a body punch in the clinch. Monti using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Robert has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
The referee calls for Monti to work.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Robert. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Monti stalling in the clinch.
Robert is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Monti pulls him back up using the underhooks. Robert breaks the clinch.
Subyran Robert seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Monti doesn't succeed with the takedown and Robert counters with a two punch combo. Robert tries to clinch but fails miserably and Monti decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Robert's guard. Monti trying to control but Robert is working from the bottom. Robert working a defensive guard here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Robert wants to stand and escape but Monti is having none of it. Subyran Robert has got the better of the ground game so far. Robert wants to hit a switch here but Monti passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Robert there! Monti trying to control but he's not successful this time. BOOM! Monti connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Robert is wriggling around trying to escape.
Robert tries to control Monti's body but Monti pushes him off. Robert squirms to his side and now Monti has his back! Robert tries to escape but Monti has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Monti biding his time, controlling Robert. Monti doesn't have the hooks in and Robert manages to turn into his guard.
Robert controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Robert trying to control but Monti is working from the bottom. Monti has control of Robert's left arm, preventing Robert from doing any damage. Robert trying to control the position from guard on top but Monti is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Monti preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Robert postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Monti is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Monti is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Robert throws a strike but Monti rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Robert can do anything to dispel that myth. Robert wants to stand and escape but Monti is having none of it.
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Marco Monti. I think Monti has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
