PBP Commentary |
Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Bjorn Olsson (ranked 2538 p4p, 6338 weight class) and Adam Street (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bjorn Olsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Adam Street! The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Ron Honeybunn and Francis DeMontford.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Street doesn't succeed with the takedown letting Olsson counter with a right hand.
It looks like Adam Street has been cut. Street wants to clinch and Olsson counters with a nice uppercut. Olsson thuds his right hand into Street's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Olsson lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Street throws a lazy head kick and Olsson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Street is rocked!
That has opened up Adam Street's cut even more. Olsson moves in close and cracks Street with a massive right hand! Street, frozen momentarily in time, tumbles to the canvas, already out cold! A brutal knockout by Olsson!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Bjorn Olsson!
