Mullen is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Sparrow shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sparrow showed some decent athleticism there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sparrow is nestled in close to Mullen, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Sparrow is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mullen is trying to stand up here but Sparrow is controlling him well.
Mullen really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Sparrow. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Sparrow lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Mullen quite badly. Mullen pulls Sparrow in close trying to recover. Sparrow postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Mullen on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Mullen doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jack Sparrow!
Jack Sparrow was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
