PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Volodymyr Pravda (ranked 2989 p4p, 322 weight class) and Magnus V Karlson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pravda comes to the cage accompanied by Korobushka. Magnus V Karlson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlson fails with a takedown attempt.
Magnus V Karlson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Karlson misses with a takedown attempt
and Pravda counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Karlson thinking.
Karlson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pravda but Pravda pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Volodymyr Pravda has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magnus V Karlson.

Pravda stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pravda wants it to stay on the feet.
Pravda fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Karlson looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Pravda displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Karlson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pravda waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Karlson. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Karlson to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Pravda chips away with some ground and pound.
Pravda scoring with punches to the head and body.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Pravda's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Karlson is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Pravda gets to his feet and stands over Karlson, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Karlson felt that one! Pravda unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Karlson from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:46 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Volodymyr Pravda!
Volodymyr Pravda decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
