Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Azriel Pandens (ranked 722 p4p, 1455 weight class) and Matt Camel (ranked 87 p4p, 160 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Camel shoots in but no luck this time.

Azriel Pandens has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matt Camel.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Camel is defended easily by Pandens.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Pandens fires out a quick counter leg kick but Camel just manages to avoid it.

Matt Camel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Pandens gets tackled into the cage by Camel. Camel maintains the clinch.
Pandens wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Camel has him pressed against the cage.

Camel goes for a takedown attempt but Pandens pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Pandens displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Camel.
Camel shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pandens sprawls well. Pandens wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Camel gets slowly back to his feet.
A little feinted left hand from Pandens on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

and Camel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Camel shoots in looking for a takedown but Pandens manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Camel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Camel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pandens throws a counter high kick but Camel was just alert enough to avoid it.
Camel doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Pandens counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Camel tries to clinch but Pandens moves away
and Pandens counters with a huge left! Camel is in big trouble! He's backing up but Pandens isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Camel from any more damage. A dominating finish by Pandens!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Azriel Pandens!
After the fight, Azriel Pandens was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
