Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bjorn Akerfeldt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Lucas!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Sergei Dronov and Valeri Chadov.

Akerfeldt tries for a takedown but Lucas sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
A little jabbing left from Lucas on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Lucas connects with a body shot that sends Akerfeldt's belly button to the back.
Lucas dodges the punch combination from Akerfeldt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lucas! But no joy.
Akerfeldt fails with the takedown
and Lucas counters with a solid body kick.
Lucas lands an overhand right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lucas lands a jab to the nose.
Akerfeldt chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Lucas can pounce on him.
Akerfeldt takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Frank Lucas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akerfeldt avoids the head kick by Lucas.

Akerfeldt wants to clinch up but Lucas keeps it at a distance.
Lucas lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
A slapping leg kick lands for Lucas.
Lucas throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Lucas fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Akerfeldt manages to avoid it.
As Lucas looks to move away, Akerfeldt throws a big counter combo but Lucas just gets out of the way.
Lucas lands a lovely overhand right.
Lucas's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Lucas duly obliges.
Lucas connects with a single shot there.
Akerfeldt goes for a double leg but Lucas avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Lucas continues to drive forward.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bjorn Akerfeldt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Akerfeldt tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Lucas manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lucas! But no joy.
Akerfeldt takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Akerfeldt throws a right and a left that Lucas avoids nicely.
Akerfeldt with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Lucas to score with a decent uppercut.
Lucas explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.

and Lucas counters with a straight right hand.

Akerfeldt is breathing heavily.
Lucas lands a brutal head kick. Akerfeldt looks out on his feet and Lucas throws more strikes until the ref is forced to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick and Punches). Frank Lucas!
