Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Hassan Hamad!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Rick Siver!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Chris Dean and Eliza Hachem.

Hamad fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Siver, pushing him back against the cage.

Hamad manages to break the clinch.
Siver shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hamad as he jumps to the side.
Siver misses with a jab, cross combination.
It looked like Hamad wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Hamad thumps Siver with a low kick.
Siver gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hamad counters with a stiff right hand.
Siver takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Siver tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hamad swivels and escapes.
Hassan Hamad has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rick Siver.
Hamad lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Siver's coach down at whitey's gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Siver's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Siver will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Siver has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Siver there as he acknowledges the shot.

Hamad fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Siver has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Hamad shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Siver eats them both and turns towards Hamad to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Hamad here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
