Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shaq Champlain (ranked 1443 p4p, 1244 weight class) and Joey Deertay (ranked 169 p4p, 144 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Joey Deertay enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Shaq Champlain! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Joey Deertay! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Deertay scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Champlain misses with a takedown attempt and Deertay connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Champlain doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Deertay's jab looks to have found its range, popping Champlain under the eye. Deertay looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. Deertay trying to control the pace. Champlain tries to get to full guard but Deertay has control of the leg. Deertay wants to pass to mount but Champlain is defending the position. Champlain misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Champlain wants to control but Deertay is keeping busy and won't allow it. Champlain is staying active underneath Deertay, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Deertay is looking to advance position but Champlain won't allow it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Champlain works his way to full guard. Good work. Deertay trying to control but Champlain is working from the bottom. Deertay wants to pass the guard but Champlain is keeping the position. Deertay is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Champlain throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Deertay closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Champlain quickly recovers to half guard. Champlain looking for submissions off his back. Champlain tries to roll over but Deertay keeps him under control. Deertay is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Champlain defends it well. Deertay seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Champlain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Deertay uses his free foot to push down on Champlain's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Champlain. Champlain can't escape the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Deertay is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Champlain can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Deertay prevents Champlain from getting the reversal. Deertay lands a nice shot to the head. Champlain is trying to escape the mount.
Deertay looking to control but Champlain is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Deertay working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet. Champlain gets back to half guard. Deertay trying to control the pace. Deertay tries to pass to full mount but Champlain defends it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Deertay is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Champlain sees it coming and defends easily. Deertay is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Deertay seems to be looking for submissions.

Deertay is trying to control the action in half guard but Champlain is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Deertay is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Champlain is staying active underneath Deertay, who seems content to just control the action from this position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Joey Deertay dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Deertay lands a head shot. Shaq Champlain is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Deertay looks for a takedown but Champlain sprawls well. Champlain tries to counter by clinching up but Deertay breaks away and moves out of range. Deertay throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Champlain's waist but Champlain gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Deertay off to one side. Champlain shoots and misses and Deertay counters with a stiff right hand. Deertay has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Champlain tries to close the distance and clinch up but Deertay swats him away and circles back towards the center. Deertay feints and as Champlain raises his hands in defense, Deertay changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Champlain not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Deertay avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Deertay connects with a couple of short punches. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Champlain looking for a guillotine here but Deertay defends easily.

Deertay trying to control but Champlain is working from the bottom. Champlain is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Deertay is aware though and is defending well. Deertay slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Deertay has knee on belly and moves into mount. Champlain slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Deertay maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Champlain could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Deertay has cracked it and Champlain is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Deertay!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Joey Deertay! A very excited looking Joey Deertay rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
