Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Perry Cox (ranked 4844 p4p, 7020 weight class) and Nick Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 628 weight class). Diaz has chosen The Next Episode - Dr. Dre as his entrance music. Diaz has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Nick Diaz looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Perry Cox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Diaz! The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Anni Minnemäki and Tarja Halkonen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cox shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Diaz manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Diaz is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched. Diaz looks winded! Cox has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Diaz uses from the top position. Diaz drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Diaz jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. Cox is striking but Diaz is not phased and passes to half guard. Diaz wants to pass the guard but Cox is defending well. Cox tries to kick Diaz off but Diaz keeps his base steady and stays in half guard. Cox throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Cox is looking for a sweep. Diaz is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Diaz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
That's one minute gone in the round. Cox wants to improve his position but Diaz is controlling well.
Diaz is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Cox has managed to free his arm - good work. Cox is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Cox actively working from the bottom here. Diaz not doing much here.
Diaz's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Diaz has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Cox defend it? Diaz steps over the head and cranks it - Cox is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Diaz!
