Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Bjorg Fjordlinginsson (ranked 7178 p4p, 23326 weight class) and Sub Machine (ranked 507 p4p, 556 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bjorg Fjordlinginsson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sub Machine! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.

Fjordlinginsson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Fjordlinginsson throws a big right hand that misses. Machine avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Machine is trying to control the position from the bottom.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Machine tries to roll over but Fjordlinginsson keeps him under control. Machine wants to sweep but Fjordlinginsson has passed to side control! The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Machine struggling a bit here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Fjordlinginsson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Fjordlinginsson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Machine can't escape the position.
Fjordlinginsson has control of Machine's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Machine regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fjordlinginsson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Machine is on top in guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Machine trying to control but Fjordlinginsson is working from the bottom. Machine postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Fjordlinginsson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Machine, into his guard.

Bjorg Fjordlinginsson dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Machine connects with a nice looking jab.
Fjordlinginsson shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fjordlinginsson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Machine swivels though and keeps the full guard. Fjordlinginsson throws a big right hand that misses. Machine had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fjordlinginsson defends it easily. Machine is looking for a triangle but Fjordlinginsson pushes his legs off easily.

Machine looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Fjordlinginsson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Fjordlinginsson is thwarting Machine's attempts to control the position.

Fjordlinginsson is looking for a kimura but Machine is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Fjordlinginsson to get the leverage. Machine is looking for a sweep. Fjordlinginsson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Fjordlinginsson in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Machine tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Fjordlinginsson!
