Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zaru Kayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Mendez might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Jay-Z - Brooklyn We Go Hard. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kayne moves in looking to clinch but Mendez pushes him off.
Kayne cracks Mendez with an open hand slap.
Mendez throws a leg kick but Kayne checks it.

Mendez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Zaru Kayne seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kayne tries to close the distance and clinch but Mendez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Mendez is looking to wear down Kayne with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
