Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

Star closes the distance and pushes McCooter back into the cage.
McCooter has Star pressed against the cage, preventing Star from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Star has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Star is trying to break the clinch but McCooter has him pressed against the cage.

McCooter cracks Star with a solid left hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
McCooter trying to control the position from guard on top but Star is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells McCooter's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
McCooter knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Star on the ground.
Star working for a triangle but McCooter defends it easily.
Star is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Star utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
McCooter got a little sloppy there for a moment and Star has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McCooter has managed to get both his arms back between Star's legs - danger averted.

McCooter looking to sit in guard and control but Star gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
McCooter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Star can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Star wants to control from the top but McCooter keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Star gets to his feet. McCooter looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

McCooter shoots in and bounces Star off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Star pushes McCooter off and scrambles back to his feet.
McCooter rushes Star and presses him up against the cage.

The referee is keeping an eye on McCooter - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Star wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Star lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of McCooter backwards.
Star is fighting off a takedown attempt but McCooter is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Star to the mat. Star regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Star has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. McCooter has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Star is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables McCooter to keep the fight standing.
Phillip McCooter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Patrick Star.

Star wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McCooter has him pressed against the cage.
Star fails to pull the fight into his guard.

McCooter gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Star wants to get back to his feet but McCooter passes into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

McCooter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
McCooter wants to lay and pray for a moment but Star keeps working.
McCooter is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Star has hold of McCooter's hands but McCooter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
McCooter landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Star keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Star is trying to stand.
Star is pressing down on McCooter's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Patrick Star has got the better of the ground game so far.

Star is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but McCooter frees his head nicely. Oh but Star has switched to an armbar! McCooter is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
