Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bill Steiner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Craig Mcmuffin!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

Mcmuffin shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Steiner tries to roll over but Mcmuffin keeps him under control.

Mcmuffin really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Steiner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mcmuffin prevents Steiner from improving his position.
Mcmuffin is controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steiner tries to roll over but Mcmuffin keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mcmuffin tries to pass the half guard into mount. Steiner knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Steiner is looking for a sweep. Mcmuffin is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mcmuffin seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Steiner is looking for a triangle but Mcmuffin pushes his legs off easily.

Steiner has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mcmuffin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Mcmuffin looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Steiner is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Steiner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mcmuffin defends it easily.

Steiner has his foot on Mcmuffin's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mcmuffin works his way back into a safe position though.

Steiner wants to sweep but no luck.
Steiner is working hard here to advance position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Steiner gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Mcmuffin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Steiner to the ground. Mcmuffin is now in Steiner's guard.
Steiner is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Steiner lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Steiner will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Mcmuffin prevents Steiner from moving into mount.
Steiner remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Steiner is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mcmuffin has escaped the position, nice work there.
Mcmuffin is looking for a sweep.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mcmuffin is not content to let Steiner control the position.
Steiner looking to control but instead Mcmuffin has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.
Mcmuffin is looking for a sweep. Steiner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Steiner is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Mcmuffin doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Steiner.

Steiner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mcmuffin keeps working.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Mcmuffin shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Steiner is trying to defend but Mcmuffin finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Craig Mcmuffin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Steiner is trying to get back to full guard.

Steiner has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mcmuffin is working away from the top position though.

Craig Mcmuffin showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
