Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marshal Mayhem (ranked 1470 p4p, 759 weight class) and Peter Ootempants (ranked 185 p4p, 102 weight class). Marshal Mayhem has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marshal Mayhem!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Peter Ootempants!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Winston Alpacca.

Ootempants looks to throw the jab but Mayhem is out of range.
Mayhem lands with an uppercut that bounces Ootempants off the cage and back into range.
Mayhem tests Ootempants's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Ootempants tries for a takedown but Mayhem sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Mayhem is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Ootempants.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ootempants escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mayhem gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Ootempants is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Mayhem defends well.

Ootempants is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mayhem wants to control from the top but Ootempants keeps moving.
Mayhem is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Mayhem got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ootempants has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mayhem has managed to get both his arms back between Ootempants's legs - danger averted.
Mayhem stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ootempants swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ootempants controls Mayhem momentarily but Mayhem frees himself.

Ootempants working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mayhem doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mayhem manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ootempants tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Marshal Mayhem is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Mayhem ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Ootempants feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Ootempants's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Mayhem walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Ootempants drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Mayhem swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Ootempants's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:12 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Marshal Mayhem!
After the fight, Marshal Mayhem was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
The defeated Peter Ootempants had this to say: 'Whotempants? Ooooootempaaaaaants!!!! '.
