Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Marshall Train (ranked 3772 p4p, 5640 weight class) and Shane Palumbo (ranked 383 p4p, 477 weight class). Shane Palumbo will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Marshall Train! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Shane Palumbo! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yukihiro Shimada and Kenichi Hosakawa.

Train showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Palumbo.
Train dives in and scores a takedown into Palumbo's guard. Train is in close to Palumbo's body, working some short punches and elbows. Palumbo wants to stand and escape but Train is having none of it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Train working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Train is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Train throwing strikes but missing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Train drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Train jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Palumbo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Train controls the pace. Train trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Train in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Train works over Palumbo with some ground and pound from guard. Train lands a couple of elbows. Train working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Palumbo's head. Train wants to control from the top but Palumbo keeps moving. Train sitting in guard here, content to control. Palumbo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Train. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Train trying to control but Palumbo is working from the bottom. Train seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Train postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Train postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Train controlling from the top position. Train trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Shane Palumbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Train fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Palumbo sprawls well initially but Train persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Palumbo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Train. Train throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Train sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Palumbo defending well though. Train seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime. Palumbo avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Train. Train sitting and controlling from the half guard. Train thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Palumbo's head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Train takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Palumbo taking some punishment here, with Train in his half guard.
It looks like Shane Palumbo has been cut. Train throwing shots but Palumbo is blocking nicely. Train lands strikes from half guard. Train working the head and body with strikes.
That has opened up Shane Palumbo's cut even more. Train is controlling the pace.

Marshall Train dominated that round. The cut man is working on Shane Palumbo's cut. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Palumbo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Palumbo, as that shot connected.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Train. Palumbo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Palumbo wants it to stay on the feet. Palumbo lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected. Train misses with a double jab.
Train shoots in but no luck this time. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marshall Train. That's going to take a lot out of him. A decent looking cross lands there for Palumbo. Train loses concentration momentarily and Palumbo pounces with a three punch combo! Right, left, right! Train crashes face first to the mat, out cold! Palumbo finishes this one with a fantastically precise combo! Great stuff.
