Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wilmerr Fudd (ranked 2253 p4p, 2660 weight class) and Wilhelm Bar (ranked 320 p4p, 374 weight class). Wilmerr Fudd has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

Fudd stuffs the takedown attempt from Bar. Bar gets slowly back to his feet.
Bar looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Fudd is trying to get back to full guard.
Fudd is controlling Bar's trapped leg to prevent Bar from advancing to side control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Bar is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and Fudd reverses the position - he's now on top in Bar's guard.

Bar looking for a guillotine here but Fudd defends easily.

Fudd is working Bar over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Fudd with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Bar has his foot on Fudd's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fudd works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bar is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fudd has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bar is working away from the top position though.
Fudd moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Fudd bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Bar's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Fudd is in close to Bar's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Fudd throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Bar works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Bar scores with a couple of body punches from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bar wants to sweep here but Fudd controlling him for the moment.

Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
Fudd gets to his feet and stands over Bar, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Bar felt that one! Fudd unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Bar from any more punishment!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wilmerr Fudd!
Wilmerr Fudd decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
