Polino tries to sprawl but Sweeney drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Sweeney is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Sweeney is trying to work for a kimura but Polino is defending well.

Sweeney is working for a kimura from half guard. He's really concentrating on the hold and it's allowed Polino to slip a leg under and get back to full guard.
Polino manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sweeney manages to get himself to full guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sweeney has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Polino has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sweeney must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Polino is pulling down on Sweeney's head. It's preventing any offense from Sweeney, at least for the moment.

Sweeney drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Polino dives on top into guard.

Sweeney is looking to stand up but Polino isn't so interested in that idea.
Sweeney really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Polino. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Sweeney drives through with a takedown into Polino's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Polino pushes Sweeney off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Polino lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Sweeney shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Polino sprawls well. Polino wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Sweeney gets slowly back to his feet.
Polino shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Sweeney eats them both and turns towards Polino to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Sweeney drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Polino manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sweeney has Polino in his guard.

Sweeney is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Polino presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The referee is keeping an eye on Sweeney - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.

Sweeney gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Polino regains guard.

Polino has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Sweeney off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Sweeney tries for a takedown but Polino sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Sweeney lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Polino sprawling to the canvas. Sweeney follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Polino hang on?

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Sweeney is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Oh Polino is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Sweeney lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Polino quite badly. Polino pulls Sweeney in close trying to recover. Sweeney postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Polino on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Polino doesn't seem to be complaining too much.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jon Sweeney!
A less than humble Jon Sweeney misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
