Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Derek Short (ranked 4592 p4p, 5718 weight class) and Twee Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Derek Short! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Twee Kerr! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Alec Ball and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Short tries to score with a low kick but Kerr moves his leg out of the way. Kerr misses with a takedown attempt and Short counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Short throws a punch but it's blocked by Kerr. Short misses with a punch on the inside.
Short tries to throw a body punch but Kerr avoids it by throwing Short back against the cage. Short throws a head punch that misses. Kerr jumps guard.
Kerr looking for a sweep. Not yet Kerr, not yet. Kerr trying to keep a closed guard but Short is proving a slippery customer.
Kerr wants to sweep but no luck. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Short trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Kerr bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Short's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kerr wants to control from the top but Short keeps moving. Short not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kerr is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Kerr trying to control but Short is working from the bottom. Kerr preventing the sweep.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Short can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Kerr controls the pace.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Kerr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Short avoids it really well and circles away. Short seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance. A head kick misses from Kerr. Short is looking to chop away at Kerr's legs. Kerr clinches up against the cage. Short tries to throw a body punch but Kerr avoids it by throwing Short back against the cage. Kerr is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Short is keeping busy. Short swings away with an uppercut that misses.

Kerr tries to land knees in the clinch but Short avoids the damage to the body. Short swings wildly with an uppercut but Kerr uses good head movement to avoid it. A nice right hand lands inside from Short. Short misses with some punches.
Kerr is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Derek Short has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Twee Kerr. Short swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Short breaks the clinch.
Kerr shoots in for a double leg but Short sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Kerr takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Kerr tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Short swivels and escapes. As Kerr backs away, Short returns fire with a leg kick that just misses. Short scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Short moves into the clinch successfully.
Kerr jumps guard but Short stands there with Kerr around his waist. Kerr gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
That's four minutes gone in the round. An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Short. Kerr blocking some punches.

Short buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Kerr is trying hard to land a takedown here. Short sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. A slapping leg kick lands for Short.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Short lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Twee Kerr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A thudding body kick lands there by Short!
Kerr takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Kerr with the counter takedown but Short avoids it easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Kerr shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Short sprawls well. Short wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Kerr gets slowly back to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Derek Short dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. A nice inside leg kick there by Short. That's going to slow Kerr down. An inside leg kick from Short misses. Short goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Kerr takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Kerr closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Short did well to prevent Kerr getting side control. Kerr wants to control but Short is keeping him busy. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Kerr missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Kerr thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Kerr tries to pass the half guard into mount. Short knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Kerr not landing any meaningful shots this time. Kerr throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Short is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Kerr can do to turn this around? Short won't allow Kerr to pass to mount. Kerr is figuring out what he wants to do next. Kerr is trying to control the action in half guard but Short is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Kerr manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Short on his heels. He'll look to pass Short's guard now, I'm sure. Kerr throwing strikes from guard but Short blocks nicely.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kerr gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Kerr looks to land a combination. Short sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots. Short checks a leg kick. Short throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Short looks to land a body kick but Kerr moved away. Short lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Short fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kerr. Short tries to work over Kerr's front leg with a kick but Kerr checks it. Kerr fails with an attempt to clinch.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr tries to clinch but Short is having none of it. Kerr shoots in but no luck this time. Kerr tries for a takedown but Short circles away easily and Short counters with an outside leg kick.
Twee Kerr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Kerr shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Short tries to kick Kerr off in order to stand up. Kerr Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control. Kerr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Kerr cracks Short with a big right hand but Short just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Kerr controls the position. Short is trying to control Kerr's posture but Kerr avoids it. Kerr has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand. Kerr fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Short avoids it really well and circles away. Derek Short has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Twee Kerr. A punch combination from Kerr misses. An inside leg kick lands from Short. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Kerr misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Twee Kerr showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round! Short throws a solid leg kick but Kerr takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Short. Short with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Kerr is looking to clinch. Kerr checks the leg kick. Kerr looks for a takedown but Short sprawls well. Kerr shoots in looking for a takedown. Short tries to sprawl out of it but Kerr keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Short manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Short chopping away at his opponent's legs.
That's one minute gone in the round. Short walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kerr checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side. Kerr checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Short tries to land a leg kick but Kerr saw it coming and moves away.
Kerr is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own. Short tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kerr swats him away and circles back towards the center. Short has Kerr up against the cage in a clinch.

Short tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Derek Short is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch up but Short swats him away and circles back towards the center. Short fires out a quick counter leg kick but Kerr just manages to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Short keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Derek Short has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Twee Kerr. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Kerr checks a leg kick. Kerr tries to clinch and Short counters with an inside leg kick. Kerr is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Kerr's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down. Short throws a leg kick but Kerr sees it coming and moves out of range. Kerr dives in and scores a takedown into Short's guard. Kerr working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kerr wants to control from the top but Short keeps moving. Short will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kerr controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Kerr gets to his feet - Short follows without any prompting. Kerr closes this distance looking for a takedown but Short circles away. Short chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Short finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Short swings wildly with an uppercut but Kerr uses good head movement to avoid it. A head punch blocked on the inside by Kerr. Short tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. A head punch blocked on the inside by Kerr. Kerr tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Short smiles and moves away.
Short with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Kerr shoots for a double leg takedown but Short sprawls well. He's pushed Kerr's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Kerr tries to close the distance and clinch but Short swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
And that's the end of the fight! Derek Short showed his dominance in that final round. I think Short has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
