These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madness lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Dirk circles away quickly and effectively.
Madness looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A jab from Dirk misses.
Dirk throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Madness is looking to counter punch.
Madness misses with the combination.
Tom Dirk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Madness slips a straight right by Dirk.
Madness throws a right and a left that both miss.
Madness takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

We've been informed that Dirk has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dirk shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Madness's guard.

Madness wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Dirk manages to pass to side control.

It looks like Dirk might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Madness with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Dirk to score with a decent uppercut.

Dirk ducks down and throws a big overhand right - it lands flush on the jaw, knocking Madness out cold! The fight is over!

Tom Dirk tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
