Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Gehlinho (ranked 6155 p4p, 6730 weight class) and Chase Wright (ranked 592 p4p, 620 weight class). Chris Gehlinho has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Gehlinho!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chase Wright!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright instigates a clinch.
Gehlinho wants to stall.
Wright avoiding damage.
Gehlinho stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Wright wants a takedown but no success here.
With the fighters up against the cage, Gehlinho throws an elbow but misses.

Wright turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Gehlinho wants to control but Wright postures up.
The referee asks Wright politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Wright prefers to stall for the moment though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wright tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Wright tries to advance to mount but Gehlinho denies him.
Gehlinho is being controlled here.
Gehlinho tries to improve position but can't.
Gehlinho is breathing heavily.
Gehlinho is trying to control Wright's posture but Wright avoids it.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Wright controls the position.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Let's hope that Wright has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Wright has Gehlinho up against the cage in a clinch.
Gehlinho misses with a punch on the inside.
Gehlinho looking to slow down the pace here.

Wright manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Wright has his hands on Gehlinho's head, controlling the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wright is on top in guard.

Wright postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Wright is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Gehlinho throws his legs up looking for a submission but Wright uses it to pass to side control.
Wright has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Gehlinho!
Wright postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Gehlinho looks a forlorn figure.
Wright looking to control and managing it successfully.
Gehlinho definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wright's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

It looks like Chris Gehlinho has been cut.
Gehlinho fails with an attempt to clinch.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Wright wants to pass the guard but Gehlinho is keeping the position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Wright instigates a clinch.
Gehlinho is looking to control Wright's arms but Wright gets an underhook and turns him. Now Gehlinho has his back to the cage.

Wright is trying to pull guard but Gehlinho turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Wright gets control of Gehlinho's arms and successfully pulls guard. Wright will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Wright avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Wright pulls Gehlinho in close to his closed guard and prevents Gehlinho from doing any damage or advancing position.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gehlinho accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Wright wants to stand and escape but Gehlinho is having none of it.

Gehlinho avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Gehlinho trying to control the position from guard on top but Wright is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Wright looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Gehlinho moves into range and clinches up with Wright.
Gehlinho is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Wright drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Wright jumps guard but Gehlinho stands there with Wright around his waist. Wright gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Chris Gehlinho has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chase Wright.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Gehlinho lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Wright breaks from the clinch.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Chase Wright showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Wright fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Wright feints and as Gehlinho raises his hands in defense, Wright changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wright slips nicely into half guard.

Wright seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Gehlinho is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Wright seems to be working for a kimura but Gehlinho defends the submission attempt.

Wright is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Wright looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Wright is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gehlinho doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Wright.
Wright content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Wright connects with a nice short shot to Gehlinho's temple.

Wright seems to be working for a kimura but Gehlinho defends the submission attempt.
Wright perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Gehlinho is looking to control Wright's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gehlinho avoid being mounted?

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Wright has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Gehlinho moves into the clinch successfully.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Wright goes for a takedown in the clinch but Gehlinho prevents it.
Wright misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Gehlinho is trying to maintain a safe position but Wright gets an underhook and turns Gehlinho into the cage.
Chris Gehlinho has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Gehlinho is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Wright to keep the fight standing.

Gehlinho drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Wright manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Gehlinho has Wright in his guard.

Chase Wright is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Chase Wright comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
