Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kollaa River (ranked 2114 p4p, 1263 weight class) and Riley Ferguson (ranked 255 p4p, 151 weight class). River's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, For Heavy Metal we will die!. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Riley Ferguson!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
River tries for a takedown but Ferguson circles away easily
and Ferguson counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from River is defended easily by Ferguson.
Ferguson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Ferguson blocks a jab.
Ferguson doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
River scores with a sloppy right hand. Ferguson should have avoided that one.

River throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Ferguson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. River is in Ferguson's guard.
River stops Ferguson from standing up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ferguson is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
River wants to pass the guard but Ferguson is keeping the position.
River stands and throws Ferguson's legs to the side, diving into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ferguson pushes River away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, River gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

River has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Ferguson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. River yanks on the arm and Ferguson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by River.

Kollaa River spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
