Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ruben Ruiz Mangas (ranked 3009 p4p, 21819 weight class) and Earle Nelson (ranked 382 p4p, 648 weight class). Mangas comes to the cage accompanied by I'm a Soldier. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruben Ruiz Mangas! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 4 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Earle Nelson! The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mangas motions for Nelson to come forward. Mangas throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. And an attempted straight right on the counter from Nelson! But no joy. A shot to the body from Nelson misses and Mangas counters with a thumping low kick. Nelson tries to close the distance and clinch but Mangas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Nelson throws out a powerful jab. Nelson walks into a straight right hand from Mangas. A decent looking cross lands there for Mangas. A head kick misses from Nelson. It appears Mangas was looking to counter with a kick there. Mangas scores with a nice body kick.
Nelson has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. A head kick misses from Mangas. Nelson misses with a shot to the body and Mangas makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Nelson throws a sloppy body shot
and Mangas counters with a nice double leg into guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mangas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Mangas slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mangas works a leg free and moves into half guard. Mangas is looking for a kimura here.
Nelson tries to get to full guard but Mangas has control of the leg. Mangas is looking to advance position but Nelson won't allow it. Mangas controlling the action here. Nelson is looking to improve his position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Nelson looking for submissions off his back. Nelson trying to control here.
Mangas controlling the pace. Nelson looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Mangas performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Mangas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Nelson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Mangas. Mangas seems to be working for a kimura but Nelson defends the submission attempt.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mangas takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Nelson is trying to maintain the position but Mangas is very close to passing his half guard. Mangas perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Nelson trying to hold on to Mangas's head to control him but Mangas postures up.
Mangas wants to work for an arm triangle but Nelson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Nelson is trying to maintain the position but Mangas is very close to passing his half guard. Nelson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Mangas keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Mangas passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Nelson!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Mangas takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Mangas moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Nelson has worked his arm free - good work by Nelson!
Mangas trying to control the action but Nelson is working from the bottom. Nelson prevents Mangas from improving position. Mangas controlling from side mount. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Mangas is looking to take a break and control but Nelson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Mangas working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.
Ruben Ruiz Mangas dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action! Mangas throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Nelson throws out a counter right but Mangas avoids it with no problem. Nelson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Earle Nelson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The fighters circling - Nelson throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Nelson has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Mangas. Earle Nelson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mangas blocks a jab. Nelson pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nelson throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mangas sees it coming and avoids it easily. Ruben Ruiz Mangas is winning the standup battle so far. A cross from Mangas lands. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Mangas lands a really nice looking cross but Nelson seems unphased.
Nelson thows a leg kick but Mangas checks it and Mangas counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena. Mangas scores with a sloppy right hand. Nelson should have avoided that one. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mangas scores with a jab to the head.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mangas uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Nelson. Nelson lands a high kick!
Nelson throws a hook but Mangas blocks it. Nelson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Nelson is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mangas. Mangas lands a jab to the nose. Nelson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Mangas doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Mangas waves his right hand out in front of him, looking to distract Nelson. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Nelson to the canvas! Can he finish him!?
Nelson is rocked!
It looks like Earle Nelson has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Mangas advances to half guard. Nelson is still in real trouble! Can Mangas finish him? Mangas stalling. Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mangas is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Nelson! Mangas looking to control and managing it successfully. Nelson seems to have recovered his senses. Mangas is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Mangas!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:31 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Ruben Ruiz Mangas! Ruben Ruiz Mangas decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
