PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jones Arbor (ranked 4423 p4p, 4238 weight class) and Sam Bo (ranked 466 p4p, 0 weight class). Jones Arbor had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jones Arbor !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Sam Bo!
The judges for this bout are Topper Green, Ron Honeybunn and Ben Watson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bo decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Bo is controlling the pace.
Arbor tries to roll over but Bo keeps him under control.
Bo wants to pass the guard but Arbor is defending well.
Bo wants to control but Arbor is keeping him busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Still in half guard, Bo seems content to control.
Arbor really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bo wants to free his trapped foot but Arbor is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Bo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bo connects with a nice short shot to Arbor 's temple.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Arbor has hold of Bo's hands but Bo slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Bo is trying to work for a kimura but Arbor is defending well.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Bo connects with a nice short shot to Arbor 's temple.

Bo is trying to control the action in half guard but Arbor is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Bo is taking a breather. Arbor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Let's hope that Bo has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Arbor has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bo is working away from the top position though.

Bo looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bo working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Jones Arbor is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bo has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Arbor takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

It looks like Jones Arbor has been cut.
Bo passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Arbor !

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arbor tries to strike from the bottom.
Bo cracks Arbor with a solid left hand.
Arbor wants to stand up but Bo is controlling him.
Bo scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Arbor not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Bo's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Arbor controls Bo momentarily but Bo frees himself.
Bo lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Bo lands a couple of elbows.
Bo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Bo lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Bo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Arbor is not content to let Bo control the position.
Bo lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Bo seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
