PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Lee (ranked 2457 p4p, 1566 weight class) and Prohor Georgiev (ranked 253 p4p, 178 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Georgiev's choice of entrance music: Oxxxymiron - City under the sole. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lee tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Georgiev was well out of range. Poor timing from Lee.

Lee takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Lee crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Georgiev - the referee stops the clock and Lee gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Georgiev. Lee manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Lee lands a nice hook to Georgiev's body. Georgiev takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Georgiev is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Georgiev is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Lee had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

We've been hearing good reports from Lee's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Lee is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Georgiev is just riding it out for now. Lee eventually gives up the hold.

Prohor Georgiev comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Georgiev has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
