Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Wille Thai!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Ross Rhea!
The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Damien Edna and Ben Hemmingworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rhea throws a hook but Thai blocks it.
Thai feinted with a counter takedown.
Thai checks a low kick from Rhea.
Rhea throws a series of punches but Thai avoids them all with ease.
No luck for Thai with that takedown attempt.
Rhea tries to close the distance and clinch but Thai swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Thai appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rhea misses with a series of wild punches.
Thai seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Rhea throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Thai.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thai defending well as Rhea loads up on a big left hand.
Rhea throws a leg kick

and Thai counters with a takedown into side control.

Thai tries for a kimura but Rhea is defending well.
Rhea is trying to control Thai's posture but Thai avoids it.

Thai swings around for an armbar but Rhea sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Thai's guard.
Rhea content to stall in guard here.

Thai throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.

Thai has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Rhea can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've been hearing good reports from Thai's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Rhea trying to control the position from guard on top but Thai is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rhea stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Thai swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Thai is looking to cinch up a triangle. Rhea throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Thai's body to avoid the submission. Thai has instead reached around Rhea's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Thai arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Wille Thai!
