PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifford Val Salvacion (ranked 4419 p4p, 23595 weight class) and My Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clifford Val Salvacion!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 10 - 1, fighting out of New York, My Fighter!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Jorge Garcia and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Fighter gets caught flat footed, as Salvacion shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Salvacion controls from within his opponent's guard.
Salvacion trying to control the position from guard on top but Fighter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fighter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fighter keeping moving, preventing Salvacion from controlling successfully.

Fighter being controlled here, momentarily.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Salvacion's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up.

Salvacion shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fighter is trying to defend but Salvacion finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Fighter is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Salvacion's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Salvacion's back!
Fighter controlling the position well here. Salvacion rolled but Fighter kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Salvacion tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Salvacion tries to lock up and control but Fighter gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salvacion tries to hold on but Fighter postures up.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

My Fighter dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Fighter fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Salvacion avoids it really well and circles away.
Salvacion looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.

Salvacion closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Fighter is trying to stand up here but Salvacion is controlling him well.
Fighter keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Salvacion is keen to just control but Fighter is a slippery customer.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Fighter is trying to get back to full guard.

Fighter manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Salvacion keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Fighter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Salvacion.
Fighter tries to score a body lock takedown but Salvacion shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Salvacion wants to take the fight to the mat but Fighter manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Fighter struggles to land a body shot inside as Salvacion controls his hands.
Salvacion tries to pull guard but Fighter holds him up against the cage and eventually Salvacion drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Clifford Val Salvacion. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Salvacion is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Salvacion gets underhooks to prevent Fighter's takedown attempt.
Salvacion is working for takedown but Fighter is calmly controlling the position for now.
Fighter misses with a punch to the body.
Fighter is looking to break free of the clinch but Salvacion has double underhooks.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Fighter manages to break the clinch.
Fighter shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Salvacion but Salvacion pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

My Fighter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare each other down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Fighter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Salvacion tries to avoid it but Fighter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Salvacion to the ground. Salvacion escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Salvacion throws a big counter combination but Fighter scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Salvacion shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Fighter's guard.
Fighter wants to stand up but Salvacion is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Salvacion throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Salvacion trying to control the position from guard on top but Fighter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Salvacion drives through with a takedown into guard.

Salvacion slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Salvacion seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Fighter for as long as he can get away with.
Salvacion stops Fighter from standing up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Salvacion wants to control from the top but Fighter keeps moving.
Fighter is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Fighter is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Fighter closes the distance and clinches up with Salvacion, looking for a takedown. Fighter pushes Salvacion against the cage but Salvacion circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Salvacion thinks about countering with a body kick.

Salvacion shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Fighter manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
My Fighter is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Salvacion won't allow Fighter to get back to his feet.
Clifford Val Salvacion has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fighter is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Salvacion presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Salvacion jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Fighter walks away with a smile on his face. Salvacion gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

And that's the end of the fight!
Clifford Val Salvacion showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Fighter has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
