Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Landon McGuire!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beam misses the shot to the body.
McGuire moves out of range of the leg kick from Beam.
A nice side step and McGuire releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
McGuire showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Beam.
A little jabbing left from McGuire on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Beam lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
McGuire lands with a thumping leg kick.
McGuire gets cracked there but stands up to it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing reports that Beam has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Beam throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Beam tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but McGuire paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Beam's jab looks to have found its range, popping McGuire under the eye.

Jim Beam seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Beam tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and McGuire is able to avoid easily.
McGuire is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Beam swings wildly with an uppercut but McGuire uses good head movement to avoid it.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, McGuire creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Beam working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. McGuire doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. McGuire manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Beam escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McGuire gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Beam manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. McGuire manages to get himself to full guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Beam accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Oh but McGuire is tightening it up a little... Beam has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Beam reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Beam taps out! Nice BJJ there by McGuire!

After winning the bout, Landon McGuire thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
