Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Edward Conan (ranked 137 p4p, 274 weight class) and Abraham Durden (ranked 17 p4p, 38 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Edward Conan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abraham Durden!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Daniel Bishop and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Conan throws a body punch but Durden moves out of range.
A slapping leg kick lands for Durden.

Conan closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Conan lands in his opponent's guard.

Durden manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Durden stops a takedown attempt from Conan.

Conan decides to pull guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Conan working for a triangle but Durden defends it easily.
Conan not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Conan seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
Conan wants to sweep but no luck.

Conan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Durden can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Durden is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Durden keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Conan misses with an uppercut. Durden saw that one coming.
Conan connects with a body shot.
Durden misses with a straight left.
Conan dives in for a single leg takedown but Durden sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Conan jumps guard and drags Durden to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Durden gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Durden is looking to chop away at Conan's legs.
An attempted straight right counter from Conan misses the target.
Conan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Durden manages to avoid it.
Conan darts in looking for a takedown but Durden gets double underhooks and turns Conan into the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Conan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Durden is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Conan off and has taken his back!
Durden has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Conan is keeping busy.
You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.

Durden gets back to his feet from a dominant position... quite strange.

Abraham Durden showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

No joy there for Conan, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Conan lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Conan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Durden tries to avoid it but Conan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Durden to the ground. Durden escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Conan takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
