Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rogerio Duarte (ranked 2592 p4p, 1222 weight class) and Mitsugu Takeishi (ranked 104 p4p, 50 weight class). Takeishi has chosen Kabuki Gomen-Jyo as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rogerio Duarte! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of 19 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mitsugu Takeishi! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duarte cracks Takeishi with a right hand to the side of the head. Takeishi avoids the body shot from Duarte.
Takeishi just misses with a punch to the body.
Takeishi throws a right and a left that both miss. Duarte went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected. Takeishi wants to clinch. Duarte connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Duarte digs a good body shot into Takeishi's ribs. Duarte scores with a leg kick.
Takeishi's jab looks to have found its range, popping Duarte under the eye. Takeishi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Takeishi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Takeishi with a body punch. A glancing blow. Duarte throws a series of punches but Takeishi avoids them all with ease. Takeishi throws out a counter right but Duarte avoids it with no problem. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Takeishi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Mitsugu Takeishi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duarte circles away from the clinch attempt.
Takeishi throws an off balance right hand
and Duarte counters with a left to the body. Takeishi looks to land a left hand but Duarte moved out of range nicely.
That's one minute gone in the round. Duarte feints and then cracks Takeishi's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Takeishi down. Duarte connects with a crisp jab. A slapping body kick lands there for Duarte. Takeishi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Duartes jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Duarte tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. A looping hook to the body misses from Takeishi. Duarte does a little dance to reset his feet. Duarte fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Takeishi manages to avoid it. Duarte gets tackled into the cage by Takeishi. Takeishi maintains the clinch. Takeishi drops Duarte onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Duarte is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Duarte is rocked! This has been an exciting period of action! Takeishi pushes Duarte against the cage. Takeishi is working some dirty boxing. Takeishi pushes off with a quick right hook! Duarte goes down! Duarte tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Takeishi moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mitsugu Takeishi! Our winner, Mitsugu Takeishi, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
