Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 25 - 25 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lyle Alzado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 17 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mike Megaton!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Taro Takaoka.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alzado throws a lazy right hand but Megaton sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Alzado swings away with a body shot that misses
and Megaton counters with a nice uppercut.
It looks like Lyle Alzado has been cut.
Megaton lands a big uppercut and Alzado crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Alzado looks OK. Megaton waves Alzado back to his feet!
Alzado is rocked!
Megaton cracks Alzado with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Alzado falls to his knees and Megaton doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Megaton!
In his post fight interview, Mike Megaton started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
