Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kotaro Minamino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jeff Hecker Jr!
The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Chad Campbell and Reed Andrews.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hecker Jr forces Minamino back against the cage and clinches.
Minamino looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Minamino gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Hecker Jr is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Minamino drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hecker Jr dives on top into guard.
Hecker Jr advances to half guard.
Hecker Jr moves into side control, avoiding a weak kimura attempt from Minamino.

Hecker Jr throws a combination. Minamino tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
It looks like Kotaro Minamino has been cut.

Hecker Jr wants to clinch up but Minamino keeps it at a distance.
Minamino half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Minamino tries to keep at a distance but Hecker Jr has taken the fight into the clinch.
Minamino tries to pull guard but Hecker Jr forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Hecker Jr lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Minamino.

Hecker Jr is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Minamino can't fight it off and eventually Hecker Jr manages to take the fight to the floor. Minamino looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hecker Jr cracks Minamino with a solid left hand.
Hecker Jr stands up over Minamino, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Minamino is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Hecker Jr stands and steps away. Minamino gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hecker Jr is defended easily by Minamino.
Minamino is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hecker Jr.
Minamino definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Hecker Jr keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Minamino's head.
Hecker Jr drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hecker Jr jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Minamino is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hecker Jr is aware though and is defending well.

Hecker Jr wants to lay and pray for a moment but Minamino keeps working.
Hecker Jr stands up and beckons Minamino to join him on the feet.
A nice leg kick from Hecker Jr, right into the meat of the thigh.
Hecker Jr shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Minamino but Minamino pushes him off and we're back to square one.
And that is the end of the round. The fighters go back to their corners.

Jeff Hecker Jr is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Minamino gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hecker Jr counters with a stiff right hand.
Hecker Jr tries to clinch there but Minamino circles away.

Hecker Jr has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Hecker Jr tries for a kimura but Minamino is defending well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hecker Jr is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Minamino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Hecker Jr cracks Minamino with a big elbow. Oh, he's hurt! Hecker Jr immediately mounts and start dropping bombs! Minamino is done! The referee jumps in and saves him from any more punishment - a quick and decisive finish by Hecker Jr!
