The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ellacuria swats away the attempt to clinch by Mallet.
Ellacuria throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Mallet tries to counter with a clinch but Ellacuria shakes him off and moves away.
Sean Mallet seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mallet swinging wildly here.
Ellacuria cracks Mallet with a left hand that drops him to the canvas, up against the ropes! Can Mallet get back up in time? 3, 4, 5, 6, 7... he's on one knee... 8, 9... he's up! 'Walk towards me' says the referee. Mallet looks steady enough to continue so we're going to continue!

It looks like Sean Mallet has been cut.
Mallet tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Mallet throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Ellacuria counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Mallet is still on wobbly legs! Can Ellacuria finish him?
Mallet scores with a hook to the body.
Ellacuria creates a bit of space for himself and unleashed what can only be described as a tiger uppercut, straight out of Street Fighter! Mallet crashes to the mat! Can he make it back to his feet in time? 3,4,5, yes, he's made it back to his feet. He seems OK so it looks like we're going to continue!
Mallet glances at the clock... BAM! Ellacuria nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Mallet crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Mallet is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Arturo Ellacuria!
