Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Veidt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Johns!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns thows a left - swing and a miss!
A little feinted left hand from Veidt on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Veidt walks into a stiff left hand from Johns.
Veidt swings for the body but Johns moves out of range.
A swing and a miss from Johns.
Veidt is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Johns misses with an uppercut. Veidt saw that one coming.
The fighters circling - Johns throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Veidt throws a jab but it's blocked by Johns.
A jab from Veidt misses.
Veidt uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Johns.
Veidt throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Johns sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Veidt ducks under a wild hook from Johns.
Johns misses with a few strikes there.
Veidt lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johns tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Veidt was well out of range. Poor timing from Johns.
John Johns seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A jab from Veidt finds it's way through Johns's defenses.
Veidt misses with a straight right.
Johns throws a hook but Veidt avoids it easily.
Veidt missing with a left hand there. Johns was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Johns swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Johns works Veidt's body with a nice hook.
Johns throws a hook but Veidt blocks it.
Veidt drops his hands momentarily and Johns takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Johns ducks under a wild hook from Veidt.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Johns! But no joy.
Veidt seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Johns uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Veidt.
Johns ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Johns doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Veidt moves away from the strike by Johns.
A telegraphed right hand from Johns misses the target.
Johns throws a leg kick that misses.
Johns takes a swing at Veidt's ribcage but misses.
A looping hook to the body misses from Veidt. Johns does a little dance to reset his feet.
Johns throws a poor cross that misses
and Veidt counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Johns fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Veidt manages to avoid it.
Veidt throws a body punch but Johns moves out of range.
Veidt misses with a straight left.
Johns ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Veidt moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johns throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.
Johns throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Good standup being displayed there by Veidt as he connects with a hook.
Johns ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Veidt throws a hook but Johns avoids it easily.
Veidt scores with a hook.
Veidt fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Veidt misses the jab.
Johns looks for a takedown but Veidt sprawls well.
Veidt defending well as Johns loads up on a big left hand.
Veidt was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Johns moves out of range as Veidt strikes.

Veidt lands a big uppercut and Johns crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Johns looks OK. Veidt waves Johns back to his feet!

Johns is rocked!
Veidt is looking for an opening here. He's unloaded a big left hand that catches Johns flush on the jaw and sends him tumbling to the canvas! Johns is out cold! Veidt holds back from landing any unnecessary shots to his unconscious opponent, as the referee reacts slowly to the situation. A brutal knockout and then some excellent sportsmanship - this guy is my new favorite fighter!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Andy Veidt!
Andy Veidt very nearly forgot to thank Brooklyn Apothecary amongst all the excitement of his win but just as the interview came to a close, he screamed their name. Hopefully he'll get a few nice freebies in the mail as a thank you.
