The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Megaton connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Megaton uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before McDonald has time to react.

McDonald scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Megaton doesn't seem bothered though.
Jim Bob McDonald seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McDonald is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and Megaton counters with a nice uppercut.
McDonald cracks Megaton with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.

Megaton shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

It looked like Megaton wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

McDonald works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

and Megaton cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Megaton takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Megaton drops his hands momentarily and McDonald takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
McDonald is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

McDonald throws a jab but it's blocked by Megaton.

McDonald lands a slapping body shot.
McDonald throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Megaton stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
McDonald misses with a hook. Megaton ducked under it nicely.
Megaton walks into a jab.
McDonald is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Megaton had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into mush.

Megaton ducks straight into an uppercut from McDonald and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Megaton manages to regain guard straight away.

Mike Megaton's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Megaton has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
